This is my final letter in this format, since the closure of the school was first announced by me in July of 2008. It is possible on the web site to follow the train of events through these letters that led us to believe first that this might be a temporary closure, then to recognition that it would be permanent and finally to our present situation that has resulted in most of the property being leased to another school.
After spending "many" years in a school environment with basically the same monthly events (hiking trip, the start of school, Christmas and Easter holidays, Open House and canoe trips), I have had to adapt to numerous changes and uncertainties in the past fourteen months. Remarkably, time has sped by quickly without a dull moment and with many surprises around each corner.
The next corner begins in September as Barbara McKay, Blaine Thauberger and I act (on a part time basis) as landlords, keepers of the records and coordinators of a history book on Saint John's School of Alberta and the Company of the Cross Alberta. The establishment of the Legacy Trust is also a high priority.
Please check out What's New on this web site for our latest contact information. When you phone the school, the receptionist answers with "Mother Earth's Children's Charter School". This may be unsettling the first time you call, but the next time will be easy! You will be directed towards our phone extension when you request someone from Saint John's School.
Our next update will be mailed, emailed and placed on the web site in December.

* Remember that if you would like to come out for a visit, please phone or email us to ensure someone is available to greet you. Weekend and evening opportunities are limited even though someone is always on site.
